How to Set OSD (On Screen Display)

by Kyle LaPach 05 May 2025

Answer:

On Screen Display (OSD) allows Uniview cameras to overlay text, such as time, preset names, or custom information, directly onto live video images.

Note: This function may vary by model. Please refer to your specific camera's Web interface for exact options.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Setup > Image > OSD.
  2. Select the position for the OSD:
    • Click the desired box in the Live View area.
    • Drag and reposition the box, or adjust precise coordinates using the X and Y overlay settings.
  3. Choose the content to overlay:
    • Options include: Time, Preset, Serial Info, or Custom Text.
  4. Once a position and content are set, a confirmation symbol appears under the Status column indicating success.
  5. Arrange multiple OSD items using the move up/down controls if needed.
  6. Save your settings when finished.
  7. Optional:
    • Right-click on the preview window to toggle full-screen or aspect ratio view modes.
    • Clear an OSD item by selecting "None" for Position or clearing its content field.
