How to Set Media Stream

by Kyle LaPach 29 Apr 2025

Answer:

You can configure and display media streams from a camera. Streams can be transmitted using UDP or TCP protocols to a specified IP address and port number.

Note: Settings take effect after the camera restarts.

Note: Only specific models support this function. Refer to your model for details.

Note: Choose the transport protocol based on network performance:

  • TCP: Better image quality, but higher latency.
  • UDP: Lower latency, but may have reduced image quality.

Steps:

  1. Navigate to Setup > Video & Audio > Media Stream.
  2. Click the Add button, select a Stream Type, and set the following:
    • IP Address: IP address of the unicast or multicast group receiving the stream.
    • Port Number: Port number for the receiving device.
    • Persistent: Select "Yes" if you want the stream to auto-establish after a restart.
  3. To delete an existing stream, click the Delete icon next to the stream entry.
  4. Click Submit to save and apply the configuration.
